On Saturday March 19, 2011 the West Central Warriors faced off against the Springfield Lightning. With a storm rolling in and thunder rumbling across the sky, the Warriors rumbled across the field, controlling the ball most of the game.
After 3 quarters of the Warriors being on top, the Lightning came back from behind to give the Warriors a good warm up for the rest of the season.
Not to be outdone the Warriors battled back to take the win with a fleaflicker to CJ Jones who then threw a huge pass to his intended receiver Devin Miller in the end zone to score a field goal with 1:29 left to play.
The Lightning countered with House throwing a pass to his intended receiver in the end zone. Scoring with only 48 seconds left in the game.
With an amazing play from Coach Schlesener's playbook, Steven McSperitt tosses a perfect pass to Josh Sartan for an excellent catch in the end zone winning the game for the Warriors with only 11 seconds to play.
All in all a very good start for their first game in the Warrior's inaugural season.
